Abstract
A device for automatic bacteriological analysis of water is described. The use of a new test for measuring fecal contamination of water, a new culture method and the choice of a particular bactericidal solution are necessary for this apparatus. Growth and detection of Escherichia coli can be achieved within 13 h. This automatic device allows examination of 120 samples/day.
