Oxidative Transfer Dehydrogenation of α,β-Unsaturated Carbinols to α,β-Unsaturated Ketones Catalyzed by Ruthenium Complexes

Abstract

The homogeneous competitive intermolecular and intramolecular hydrogen transfer from unsaturated carbinols to vinyl ketones in the presence of a number of ruthenium complexes is reported. The oxotriruthenium complex, Ru₃O(OOCCH₃)₇ was used in applying this process for the oxidative transfer dehydrogenation of unsaturated carbinols to unsaturated ketones.
