The Effect of Age on the Control of Sway

Abstract
A simple method for recording sway is described. The results obtained suggest that the control of stance develops during childhood to reach an optimum in early adult life and deteriorates from the fifties onwards. Since the control of stance appears to be related to age, it is concluded that the method is worthy of further development in relation to the problem of the liability of old people to fall.
