Abstract

Bioassay of 17[alpha]-ethinyl-19-nortestosterone, using the Clauberg method, demonstrates an oral activity approx. 5 times greater than that of 17 [alpha]-ethinyl testosterone. This is a further instance of increased biological activity of a steroid when the methyl group at carbon 10 is replaced with hydrogen.
