An Electrodynamic Slit Unit for an Infra-Red Double Monochromator

Abstract

Electrical control of slit width by means of the unit described permits continuous adjustment as the wave-length is changed so that constant energy output of the monochromator may be achieved. As a result, percent absorption is measured directly and the slits are always set for optimum resolving power. An additional feature is curvable slits which are preset for any wave-length desired. The unit is supplied from an amplifier for automatic output control.
