Abstract
Clinical StudiesPrevention of Acute Leukemia by Neonatal Vaccination with BCGReports that BCG inhibits the development of experimental neoplasms, including spontaneous murine leukemia, have prompted several groups to consider the possibility of lowering the incidence of leukemia in a human population by means of BCG vaccination. By comparing records of leukemia deaths with records of children receiving BCG vaccination at less than 15 years of age in the Province of Quebec, Davignon et al.131 132 133 found that death from leukemia was approximately half as common among children who had been vaccinated against BCG as among those who had not.
