Abstract
Estrogen receptor was positive in 53% of 120 breast cancers, 37.5% of benign breast diseases and 9.6% of normal breast tissue. Similarity was noted between the Japanese and reported Western breast cancer patients concerning the incidence of the receptor, little relation to clinical features and good correlation to hormonal therapy.
