Abstract
Electrical alternation developed in 8 of 9 dogs which survived coronary artery occlusion and developed ecg. signs of myocardial ischemia. Left intraventricular and epicardial or precordial leads were recorded simultaneously. Electrical alternation occurred within 2 to 3 min. and was transient. Alternation was predominantly of the S-T-T complex, although alternation of the QRS complex and T wave was also noted. It is postulated that in these expts., electrical alternation of injury effects is due to failure of certain fractions of ischemic myocardium to respond on alternate beats__.Keywords
