Abstract
Many of the patients are affected to some degree by the toxic action of p_aminosalicylic acid. Symptoms of toxicity are limited to the gastro-intestinal tract. Interruption of therapy is necessitated only occasionally. Allergic reactions to PAS occur in only a small proportion of treated individuals. Most frequent allergic reactions are drug fever and skin rashes. Successful desensitization to PAS is reported. After desensitization, long courses of PAS therapy were possible.
