Abstract
There can be no doubt that reasoning by analogy contributes enormously to the progress of Science by suggesting the hypotheses which form the basis of experimental investigation. But although it is useful, it is also dangerous and it is not infrequently the source of plausible but inaccurate and misleading catchwords.Keywords
