Abstract
We discuss a model of charmed-meson decay in which free-quark pairs rather than free quarks play a central role. This modification, while preserving the simplicity of the earlier model, has the advantage that it can incorporate some recent experimental developments which are difficult to understand in the earlier model. Keywords
