Abstract
A slip-line field model is presented for the determination of the chip curl radius when cutting with a grooved restricted contact tool. The calculated values are found to provide a good approximation, especially for larger uncut chip thicknesses. The calculated results are consistently lower than the measured ones due to the elastic recovery of the chip after leaving the groove. Keywords
