In terms of people who lived under the same roof, a Senior Center within housing for the elderly was highly satisfactory and widely and frequently used. In terms of the elderly who lived elsewhere, it seems to have had little effect. The comparison respondents in the study, who were applicants for apartments in the facility who did not move into them either because they were not selected or because they chose not to, showed a participation rate in the Center which was similar to that, generally, for elderly populations and which was similar also to the participation rate for the older population of their particular metropolitan area.
