Fermentative Estersynthese des Cholesterins.

Abstract

Pancreatic amylase incubated with colloidal suspensions of cholesterol and various fatty acids (CaCl2, Na glycocholate, and toluene were also added) yielded cholesterol esters of the acids. Cholesteryl palmitate, stearate, and oleate were identified by melting points and analyses.
