Reaction between mafic magmas and pelitic schist, Cortlandt, New York

Abstract

Reaction of xenoliths of pelitic schist with mafic magmas resulted in formation of aluminous and ferromagnesian hornfels and spinel emery. The assemblages in the hornfels, as well as the petrology and geochemistry of the rocks, are discussed.
