Abstract
High‐luminance thin‐film electroluminescent devices have been newly developed using Mn‐activated multicomponent oxide phosphors. Multicolor emission was obtained by changing the composition of CaO:Mn‐Ga2O3:Mn phosphor; luminances of 2790 and 592 cd/m2 for yellow emission were obtained in a device using a phosphor with a CaO:Mn content of 50 molar%, when driven at 1 kHz and 60 Hz, respectively. Luminance of 4220 and 809 cd/m2 for green emission were obtained in a device using Zn2SiO4:Mn‐Zn2GeO4:Mn phosphor with a Zn2GeO4:Mn content of 25 mol%, when driven at 1 kHz and 60 Hz, respectively. A high driving frequency has been demonstrated effective for oxide phosphor TFEL devices. Keywords
