Ytterbium-doped silica fibre laser with intracore Bragg gratings operating at 1.02 μm

Abstract
High power (>0.2 W) and high quantum efficiency (>80%) silica fibre lasers doped with ytterbium and operating at 1.02 μm are presented. The laser cavity is closed by two externally written gratings. The pump wavelength range is extended down to 0.85 μm.
