Abstract
Summary: Sixty-four patients were assessed throughout pregnancy to determine normal serum uric acid levels (mean ± 2SD). Serum uric acid levels increased significantly from early pregnancy levels of 0.13–0.33 mmol/L to levels of 0.18–0.45 mmol/L at full-term (p<0.005). Factors implicated in uric acid homeostasis contributing to these changes are discussed. Keywords
