Abstract

The photoluminescence of the layered titanates, K₂Ti₂O₅, Na₂Ti₃O₇, and K₂Ti₄O₉ has been investigated. K₂Ti₂O₅ showed a strong blue luminescence at room temperature. The luminescence of K₂Ti₂O₅ was strongly affected by water intercalation and H⁺ exchange.
