p¯pAnnihilation intoπ+ρat Small Angles Between 1 and 2GeVc

Abstract

We have studied the process $\overline{p}p$ into ${\pi }^{+}{X}^{-}$ using wire spark chambers. The data cover the angular range of ${{cos\theta }_{\overline{p}{\pi }^{+}}}^{*}$ between 0.96 and 1.0 at several incident momenta between 1 and 2 $\frac{\mathrm{GeV}}{c}$. The reaction $\overline{p}p\to {\pi }^{+}{\rho }^{-}$ was observed with ${\left(\frac{d\sigma }{d\Omega }\right)}^{*}$ of the order of 100 μb/sr at several momenta.
