Abstract
We have previously reported that the liver is unusually resistant to hyper-acute rejection and that a positive T lymphocyte crossmatch at 37 °C (positive T-warm crossmatch) is not a contraindication for liver homotransplantation.– Since the last report, we have accumulated 36 additional liver homografts transplanted in the presence of positive T-warm crossmatches. The one-year survival of these crossmatch grafts and the causes of graft loss are analyzed in this report in comparison with those of negative-crossmatch grafts.
