A NATURAL COPPER DEFICIENCY IN CATTLE RATIONS

Abstract
A preliminary report of field and controlled feeding studies of a nutritional anemia of cattle in Florida due to deficiency of Fe, or of Fe and Cu, in the native vegetation on white or gray sand, Everglades muck or Homestead marl soils. 3 fluid ounces of 6% solution of ferric ammonium citrate fortified with CuSO4 in molecular ratio of 50:1 given daily as a drench was effective, even in advanced cases.
