Abstract
A highly robust and flexible wireless infrared ad-hoc networking concept “reach-all-space” is presented. Reliable multipoint connectivity is achieved with virtual bandwidth adaptation allowing data rate vs distance trade-offs and graceful throughput degradation under hostile channel conditions. Achievable communication cells under realistic ambient light environments are predicted analytically and verified experimentally for data rates of 125 kbps to 4 Mbps Author(s) Gfeller, F. Zurich Res.
