Abstract
A feeding trial was conducted to determine the effect of supplementing the rations of lactating dairy cows with 1 g. of mixed tocopherols daily per cow on the amt. and fat content of the milk produced. 17 cows were used, 8 of which received basal ration and the remainder received supplemental tocopherol daily from May 21 to July 5, inclusive. Milk from each cow in both groups was weighed and tested for butterfat content daily. Neither the amt. nor the fat content of the milk produced appeared to be affected by feeding of the tocopherol supplement. Such supplementation produced no changes in the appearances and appetites of the animals. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
