Vergleich der Aktivierungsleistung von Enterokinase verschiedener Herkunft. (Vierzehnte Mitteilung zur Spezifität tierischer Proteasen.)

Abstract
A comparison was made of the activating power of enterokinase from various mammals. The comparison does not refer to the range of specific activity but only to the relative rate of hydrolysis of a definite substrate, e.g., casein, to which differences in the specific mode of attack may correspond. The trypsin and enterokinase were quite free of erepsin. Kinases obtained from the intestinal mucosa of all the species of animals tested were of equal value as activators of the trypsin obtained from the hog and the cat. When used to activate trypsin from the sea lion''s pancreas, the kinases of the dog, rabbit or ape had a far greater activating effect than those of the hog or ox.
