Characteristic Frequencies of Triethylborane

Abstract

The infrared spectra of isotopically normal and triethylborane b¹⁰ are reported, and the major bands are assigned to the characteristic bond vibrations of the molecules. Analogous to trimethylborane, the asymmetric B–C stretching frequency is placed at ca 1120 cm^—1. In view of the complexity of the molecule a more complete assignment is not feasible at this time.
