IN 1977/78 the Health Education Council Project 'My Body' was introduced into a number of junior schools in Sheffield and Derbyshire, England. The aim of this project was to discourage children from smoking by increasing their awareness of the health hazards involved. A ques tionnaire survey of the children's smoking behaviour, knowledge and attitudes one year after they completed the project suggests that it had a beneficial effect, especially amongst boys.
