Abstract
An apparatus for rapid measurement of optical rotation changes has been developed in the face of large absorption changes with time resolutions of 10 μsec (sensitivity 0.018°) and 4 msec (sensitivity 0.0016°). Applications are briefly described for the study of rapid transient processes of reduction reaction of cytochrome c with dithionite with the stopped‐flow technique. The method can be combined with stopped‐flow, temperature‐jump, and flash photolysis and allows direct observation of rapid conformation events of biomolecules. Keywords
