Abstract: Novel multicritical points of ’’weak metamagnets’’

Abstract

Results of molecular‐field calculations of phase diagrams, of uniaxial, and biaxial antiferromagnets with intermediate anisotropy are reported which exhibit novel multicritical points combining features of both bi‐ and tri‐critical points. The limiting strength of anisotropy for having bi‐ or tri‐critical behavior is found to depend strongly on the direction of applied field. (AIP)
