Abstract
Optical and ESR studies are reported of (Li)0 centres in MgO and SrO and V- centres in MgO and CaO. These defects undergo thermally induced reorientation at high temperature. ESR measurements under an applied uniaxial stress or electric field yield values of the elastic and electric dipole moments of these defects. Keywords
