Abstract
The presented evidence indicates that abnormal intrauterine mechanical forces during pregnancy can cause structural defects in the developing fetus. In the human, amnion rupture with loss of amniotic fluid and maternal, structural uterine abnormalities have been suggested as situations in which this can be found.
