Abstract
Data and methods of analysis are presented on the details of the reaction in a 12-in. hydrogen bubble chamber exposed to a bremsstrahlung photon beam of 6-BeV maximum energy at the Cambridge Electron Accelerator. The -production differential cross sections and decay angular distributions, at various photon-energy intervals, are compared with the predictions of the one-pion-exchange (OPE) model and the strong-absorption model (SAM). The experimental data seem to be in better agreement with the SAM predictions. However, much more data will be required for determining the exact role of the OPE mechanism in the photoproduction of mesons.
