A magnetometer suitable for measurement of magnetocrystalline anisotropy in a superconducting solenoid from 4K to 300K

Abstract
A magnetometer has been constructed with which accurate measurements of ferromagnetic magnetocrystalline anisotropy can be made over the temperature range 4K to 300K. The instrument will operate in the confined space inside a superconducting solenoid and measurements can be made by either a rotating sample or a ripple field method. It is shown that for each method the system performance follows that predicted by the phenomenological theory.
