Abstract
This paper discusses the theory and application of the Maximum Entropy Method (MEM) to the reconstruction of Magnetic Resonance (MR) images. It is shown that the MEM is inappropriate for MR image reconstruction and that the usual heuristic justification is invalid in this case. The application of the MEM in MR image reconstruction is characterized as merely one of many constrained regularization approaches. © 1990 Academic Press, Inc.This publication has 23 references indexed in Scilit:
