A comparison of 19-iodocholesterol-131I with 6.BETA.-iodomethyl-19-norcholest-5(10)-en-3.BETA.-ol-131I as an adrenal-scanning agent.

Abstract
Distribution studies in male Wistar rats of pure 19-iodocholesterol-131I (CL-19-131I) and 6.beta.-iodomethyl-19-norcholest-5-(10)-en-3.beta.-ol-131I (NCL-6-131I) were performed. The uptake of NCL-6-131I in the rat adrenal gland was 10 times greater than that of CL-19-131I. The ratios for adrenal-to-liver in the concentration of NCL-6-131I were always higher than those of CL-19-131I. Therefore, NCL-6-131I seems to be a better adrenal-scanning agent than CL-19-131I.
