OBSERVATIONS ON A METHOD OF MEASURING ADRENOCORTICOTROPHIC HORMONE IN PLASMA

Abstract
The recovery by acid acetone of ACTH added to plasma has been investigated. A more rapid and convenient method of extraction of plasma permits recovery of all added ACTH together with ACTH contained in the untreated plasma. It has not been possible to prepare consistently active extracts from whole blood by this method, nor has a quantitative recovery of ACTH added to whole blood been obtained. The results are discussed in relation to those of other workers.
