Abstract
After a brief summary giving the reasons for which the elemental abundances are of considerable interest and the methods used to derive solar and stellar abundances, we shall essentially review the atomic and molecular f-values needed by solar spectroscopists, with a brief account of some problems encountered in stellar spectroscopy studies. Keywords
