Auxin Action

Abstract
The mechanism of the action of auxins and similarly behaving compounds in inducing root growth, etc., is the release of diastase from protein colloidal substances to which they are normally attached. Enzymes adsorbed by charcoal are released by the presence of indole propionic acid, etc., in proportion to conc. Daylight accelerates binding of enzymes to colloids.
