The Ovarian Artery

Abstract
Seventy-seven women were examined by aortography, 59 of reproductive age and 18 at the menopause or post-menopausal. Visualization of the ovarian artery was obtained in 22. Aortography with aortic compression resulted in opacif ication of the ovarian artery in 63%, and without aortic compression in 20% of these cases. As aortography with aortic compression can interfere with renal function this method was abandoned. The radiographic appearance of the ovarian artery is described and the diagnostic value of its demonstration discussed.
