The inhibition of histaminase by amidines

Abstract
The inhibitory action of amidine derivatives on the histaminase of pig kidney was studied. Diamidines, diguanidines and diisothiourea derivatives had an inhibitory action. Stilbamidine and dimethyl-stilbamidine were strong inhibitors of the enzyme. The relation between chain length and inhibition was studied and the results discussed.
