Abstract
Medical malpractice suits are increasingly common these days. From the point of view of physicians who deliver babies, much of the litigation is, contends Dr Giacoia, “irresponsible.” He presents arguments refuting the widely held belief that low Apgar scores equal birth asphyxia and offers suggestions that may help afford protection from unwarranted legal entanglements. Keywords
