Abstract
The velocity spectra and cross sections for the reactions of Ar+ and of N2+ with HD have been measured at different kinetic energies of the incident ions. The bands of the secondary ions ArH+, ArD+, N2H+, and N2D+ appear at the positions in the velocity spectra predicted by the stripping model. The cross sections for H‐ and D‐atom transfer are half as large as for the corresponding reactions with H2 and D2, respectively. The intensity ratio XH+/XD+ strongly increases at high energies as is expected from the stripping model.
