Abstract
Naturally infected dogs and cats harboring Ancylostoma caninum were given single doses of various bephenium salts in capsules. Those receiving over 20 mg/kg showed 99.4% clearance and those receiving 20 mg/kg or less lost 94.1% of their hookworms. In dosages of 50 mg/kg or over two-thirds of the Toxocara were killed, but only about one-fourth were eliminated at dosages of under 50 mg/kg. Bephenium showed definite activity against Physaloptera sp. and slight activity against Trichuris vulpis. The only side effects were occasional nausea and vomiting. Keywords
