Concentration of ACTH in Cavernous Sinus and Peripheral Arterial Blood in the Dog.

Abstract
A method is described whereby samples of cavernous sinus blood can be obtained in the conscious resting dog. The ACTH content of this blood is several times higher than that found in peripheral arterial blood. The technique may be useful for the study of other pituitary hormones which are present in very low concentrations in peripheral blood.
