Abstract
To measure the resistance to CSF absorption in humans a lumbo-ventricular infusion test, using several intraventricular pressure levels, was developed. The test was performed in 15 patients fulfilling the criteria of normal pressure hydrocephalus. A considerable variation in the resistance to CSF absorption revealed by the test indicated that clinical and pneumoencephalographic signs of normal pressure hydrocephalus are of little use in the selection of patients who may benefit from shunting procedures. This publication has 21 references indexed in Scilit:
