Abstract
EARLIER observations from this laboratory demonstrated in the laboratory animal the efficacy of molar sodium lactate in reversing toxic electrocardiographic and blood-pressure changes resulting from quinidine and procaine amide.1 2 3 The purpose of this paper is to report the successful clinical application of these findings.Case ReportsCase 1. N.D., a 66-year-old man, was admitted to the Veterans Administration Hospital, Coral Gables, Florida, on January 18, 1958, because of chest pain. On the evening before admission, substernal chest pain and palpitation, without other cardiovascular symptoms, developed. There was no previous history of heart disease. On admission, the rhythm was regular, with . . .Keywords
