Pure Rotational Absorption Spectra of the Methyl Halides in the Spectral Region 100–600 ų

Abstract

Rotational absorption lines of the methyl halides CH₃Cl, CH₃Br, CH₃I, CH₃F, and CD₃F have been measured for the first time in the region 80 to 15 cm^—1 (125 to 660 μ). The results obtained are discussed with the aid of the molecular constants of these molecules derived from microwave data.
