Abstract
Experiments were conducted with 152 digestion trials on 31 samples of alfalfa hay of varying quality to relate the total digestible nutrient (TDN) content to either the lignin, crude fiber, or nitrogen content. Regression equations were developed which allow one to predict with reasonable accuracy the TDN content from a lignin or crude fiber analysis. The nitrogen content was shown to be related to the TDN; however, nitrogen was not as closely related as was crude fiber or lignin. Copyright © . .This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
