Abstract
Historically, Design For Assembly (DFA) has always been a reactive tool, most often carried out on products in production and, at best, late on in the product introduction process. Thus, a more proactive approach is required. This paper proposes the use of an assembly sequence model as the focus of such a computer-based DFA tool, which would support the development of CAD models and infer or extract relevant information. Keywords
