Partial Methylation Studies on Methyl beta-D-Glucopyranoside and some Derivatives.

Abstract

The partial methyla-tion of methyl [BETA]-D-glucopyranoside, unsubstituted and substituted in the 4-O-position with benzyl or tetrahydropyranyl (two stereoisomers) has been studied. The results are discussed in connection with the similar partial methylation of cellulose.
